Secondary School Places Allocation 2025/2027

EDB has published key 2027 application, successful-notification, allocation-result and registration dates. Paper submission deadlines, annual school lists and school-specific arrangements still require verification; electronic submission dates are listed separately for the eligible audience.

Key 2027 dates publishedDates come from the SSPA 2025/2027 leaflet, not the 2024/2026 documents. Successful notification is distinct from the formal July allocation result.

3 December 2026 to 18 January 2027 (during office hours) · Visit EDB’s School Places Allocation Section for eligibility procedures, the DP application form and an activation code; this is not the general DP application period.

Families notified as successful DP applicants who also hold an NDSS offer

On or before 8 April 2027 · Decide whether to retain the NDSS place. To retain the successful DP instead, notify the NDSS school and retrieve the signed Parent’s Undertaking and original P6 Student Record Form.

Parents registered on eSSPA with their account bound to iAM Smart+

8 April to 5 May 2027 (electronic submission) · Submit CA applications through eSSPA. The general choice period remains early April to early May; follow the primary school’s instructions for paper forms rather than treating the electronic deadline as universal.

Frequently asked questions

Has SSPA 2025/2027 been confirmed?

Yes. EDB Circular Memorandum 177/2025 explicitly identifies SSPA 2025/2027 and S1 entry in the 2027/28 school year.

Has the exact 2027 DP application period been published?

Yes. The EDB SSPA 2025/2027 leaflet confirms general DP applications from 2027-01-04 to 2027-01-18, both dates inclusive. School participation and procedures still require verification.

How many participating secondary schools may be selected for DP?

The EDB circular confirms no more than two, without district restriction. Submission dates and procedures still require the formal 2025/2027 documents.

Do non-participating DSS schools share one application period?

No. These schools set their own application periods and administrative arrangements, which must be verified school by school.

How can a family identify a school's allocation route?

DSS is a finance type and does not establish participation. Use the EDB current-cycle participating or non-participating DSS list, or an explicit school notice for the current cycle.
