S1Tracker methodology

Every field must answer three questions: who published it, which year it covers and whether it supports action now.

Source hierarchy

EDB circulars, handbooks, lists and parent notes for system rules, cycles and annual dates.
CHSC Secondary School Profiles open data for school facts, fees, language policy and facilities.
Individual official school websites for that school's 2027 applications, briefings, interviews, results and registration.
Third-party rankings may support non-official discovery only and never override official fields.

How bilingual records are joined

Traditional Chinese and English CSVs are joined only where telephone, normalized official website and founded year match exactly. All 441 keys are unique; fuzzy matching is prohibited.

Years never overwrite each other

2025/2027: allocation cycle; framework confirmed, detailed parent timetable pending.
2025/26: official school-profile edition, generally reflecting September 2025 facts.
September 2026: the intake covered by each profile's S1 admission field.
September 2027: the target intake being tracked; dates and routes require new official evidence.

Date publication rules

Only an exact date applicable to SSPA 2025/2027 and linked to an EDB or school official source can enter the timeline or calendar. Approximate months, prior-cycle dates, briefings, interviews, results, registration and application deadlines remain different event types.
