Language policy
Our school focuses on the language development of students and is proactively working to elevate students' abilities in Chinese, English and Putonghua. To enhance English proficiency, our school is blessed with the support from Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong in arranging interns from Germany or other countries to visit our school on a weekly basis and organize English learning activities for students. Regarding the curriculum, we provide an S.1 English Bridging Course and arrange an annual English Week and an English Funfair. Mathematics and Integrated Science for junior forms are taught in English. English Across Curriculum is also offered. 'Chinese Culture Day' and 'Reading Sharing Sessions' are held annually to arouse students' interest in learning Chinese culture and language. One class in S.1 and S.2 adopts Putonghua as the medium of instruction for teaching Chinese Language.
Facilities
Our school provides sophisticated facilities to serve different educational purposes. The school library has been redesigned and renovated into a modern library to better meet the reading and learning needs of students. Large LED screens have also been installed at the school hall to create a wonderful atmosphere for school events. A grant of $1.5 million was offered by Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation to build a dual track and two gym rooms located on the 6/F and the G/F. A mini golf course and related facilities were set up on campus to enhance students' understanding and experience of golf. With the generous support from the Incorporated Management Committee, our covered playground was renovated into a multi-purpose hall. The Design & Technology room was converted into a STEAM Laboratory with a stylish Learning Commons to create a better learning environment. Our students are given priority access to Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village and various related facilities in all YMCA youth centers.
