Language policy
A diversified MOI arrangement is adopted to cater for the diverse learning needs of students. In junior forms, Mathematics is taught in EMI. Other subjects adopt mother-tongue teaching with extended learning activities in English with a view to enhancing students’ exposure to English and the use of English in school. In senior forms, our Senior Secondary Curriculum allows students to choose from a wide variety of EMI and CMI subjects. Enabling students to become biliterate (in written Chinese and English) and trilingual (in Cantonese, Putonghua and spoken English) is one of our concerns. Apart from recruiting native English teacher and teaching assistants, a wide variety of activities, for example, extensive reading schemes in both Chinese and English languages, publication of students’ newsletter, and participation in inter-school speech festivals and public speech competitions in Cantonese, English and Putonghua etc. are organized so as to enhance students’ proficiency in both written and spoken languages. Moreover, volunteers from churches, volunteers from churches and universities across the USA have been supporting our students and helping them to improve their English through the 'International Interface Program'.
