Language policy

The school emphasises the development of bi-literacy and tri-lingualism of our students. Junior form students are grouped into streams according to their language ability. Maths is taught in English across the whole form, whereas some subjects (Science, Geography, Computer Literacy) are taught either in Chinese or English according to their language ability. The English panel offers a variety of language ability, such as prose-reading, speech, drama, debate and English speaking day, to enrich the language learning of students and prepare our students to learn in English. The school also provides extra NET to provide a language rich environment in English. The English corner opens during lunch time and after school to provide interesting language activities with our NETs. Chinese and Putonghua panels also organise prose reading and debate competition and also Chinese Culture week.
