Language policy
Our school is committed to strengthen students' proficiency in English, Chinese and Putonghua and enable our students to be biliterate (English and Chinese) and trilingual (English, Putonghua and Cantonese) with Putonghua classes, and achieving good results in Chinese subjects. Our school's English curriculum aims to enhance pupils' proficiency in both written and spoken English. Grounded in cutting edge evidence-based pedagogy, students’ are assigned listening tasks at their individual level allowing them to progress with ease across the full IELTS 1 – 9 proficiency range, graded reading exercises, and detailed AI-generated feedback on their writing, as well as a range of opportunities to practise speaking both within and outside the classroom. There are also a range of co-curricular and extra-curricular English language extension activities designed to ensure that gifted pupils have ample opportunities to reach their full potential. Our school is committed to building a comprehensive Chinese language learning system that nurtures students’ lifelong learning abilities. We have meticulously developed an e-learning platform to provide students with diverse and rich learning resources, fostering their self-directed learning skills and spirit of independent inquiry. We place strong emphasis on enhancing students’ literacy skills. Through systematic curriculum design, teachers guide students to delve into texts and master effective learning methodologies. Students further consolidate their knowledge through extensive reading and writing practice, gradually deepening their understanding. Through holistic learning experiences—such as literary walks, speech and debate activities, and more—students discover the joy of Chinese language learning. In cultivating values, we adopt a whole-school approach, utilizing thematic reading sessions, focused discussions, and other activities to help students internalize positive values naturally and also cultivate a profound humanistic spirit.
